Reservation
From what age can you rent?
18 years old and above.
Can I add or change optional rental items on the day?
Gloves, jackets, touring nets, and ETC cards can be added at the shop if they are still in stock when you come to pick up your motorcycle. Additional charges will be settled at the time of return. Top cases, pannier cases and side-bags must be added at the time of reservation. You can add or modify these options through My Page until 6:00 AM (JST) on the day before your pickup date, before the online payment is processed. After the payment, you can still add or modify options by canceling your reservation and making a new one upon arrival at the shop.
Can I change my booked motorcycle on the day?
If you wish to change the motorcycle you booked, please notify the store staff. Please make a same-day reservation of an available motorcycle according to your desired schedule.
Can I walk in on the same day without making a reservation?
Yes, it is possible. Even if you are a walk-in, please register in "My Page" and make a reservation online. Please note that it will take some time to prepare the vehicle. Depending on other reservations, we might not be able to provide a motorcycle if there is no space available, so we recommend that you make a reservation in advance.
Will I be guaranteed to rent the exact motorcycle I booked?
We always try to provide the same brand and model, but please note that the motorcycle may change due to maintenance or vehicle replacement. Additionally, store staff may recommend changing your vehicle at their discretion. We appreciate your understanding as this proposal is made with the safety of our customers in mind.
Payment
When should I pay?
Please make advance payment online when making your reservation. (Please check here for payment timing)
he day before of the rental, I received an email saying that my credit card payment had failed. Can I still rent?
A payment attempt will be made twice the day before the date of use (first time: 6:00 a.m. Japan time, second time: 6:00 p.m.).
If you receive a failure email at 6am the first time, please register another credit card from My Page and the payment will be processed again at 6pm the second time. If the second attempt fails, you will not be able to make an advance payment online, so please bring another credit card with you on the day of use and contact the store staff. At the store, we will temporarily cancel your current reservation, make a new reservation, and then make the payment immediately. Please be assured that even if your credit card payment fails, your reservation will remain in place.
I received an email saying that my credit card payment failed. Where can I inquire about the reason for the payment failure?
Rental819 cannot provide details about credit card payments. Please contact your credit card company yourself.
Can I pay with something other than credit card?
You can only use a credit card or a debit card in your name. Debit cards require immediate payment, so please make sure you have sufficient funds. If the payment cannot be processed, you will not be able to rent.
When will my credit card be charged?
At 6:00 AM (JST) on the day before departure. For same-day reservations, payment will be made immediately at the time of reservation.
Total fees will be charged to your registered credit card on the day before of your reparture date.
I don't have a credit card. Can I pay with my family member's card?
We only accept credit cards in your name.
Cancellation
I decided to cancel due to personal circumstances. Is there a cancellation fee?
We do not charge a cancellation fee. Please cancel through 'Current Reservations'.
However, if we determine that cancellations are malicious based on our judgment criteria, such as the reason for cancellation, frequency, or unauthorized cancellations, we may refrain from accepting future reservations. Please be aware of this. In the case of cancellations after payment, it may take some time for the refund to be processed. The timing of the refund will depend on confirmation from your contracted credit card company.
In the event of a same-day cancellation Please contact us by phone to the departure store. Same-day cancellations cannot be done through 'RESERVATION STATUS'.
Departure
How can I check in at the store?
Please check in via My Page upon arriving at the shop.
Is there a parking lot?
Terms and conditions vary depending on the store, so please check the store information for details.
Can I depart outside of business hours?
You can't. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please comply with the business hours of each store.
Use
Are there any restrictions on what to wear when riding a rental bike?
If you are wearing unsafe clothing (shorts, sandals, etc.), there is the possibility that you are not allowed to rent.
Is there a mileage limit?
There is no mileage limit. The rental fee does not change depending on the distance traveled.
Can I return it to a store different from the one I left it at?
One way rentals are not possible yet. You have to return the motorcycle to the same store where you departed.
Is fuel included in the rental price?
Not included. We will lend you a full tank of fuel when you depart, so please fill up your tank with the specified type of fuel before returning it. If the tank is not full, the amount will be calculated based on the number of miles traveled.
Can I rent even if I am a beginner?
Yes, you can. As long as you comply with all the legal requirements and have the required documents, it is ok.
Can I rent the motorcycle with a driver that drives instead of me?
You can't. As this is prohibited by law, we are unable to provide chauffeur service or introduce drivers.
Can foreign residents also rent?
Yes, but make sure to have all the required documents. In addition to your international driving permit or Japanese translation, please bring a valid driver's license and passport from your home country. If you wish to have foreign language support, please make a reservation from the English site / Chinese site.
May I exchange my bike for a friend's bike while I'm borrowing it?
No, only the contract holder is allowed to use it. In the event of an accident or any incidents while someone else is driving, Insurance and Compensation will not apply.
Can I extend the rental period even while I am already renting the motorcycle?
It is possible. However, if another reservation has been made within the period for which you request an extension, we may decline your request. If you wish to extend your stay, please contact the store as soon as possible.
If an option is damaged (including scratches), can it be covered by the vehicle's insurance?
No. Options other than the vehicle itself (top cases, helmets, gloves, etc.) are not covered by compensation and will be billed at actual cost.
The terms and conditions state that "driving on anything other than general public roads, including unpaved roads, is prohibited." There is a "sandy beach where you can drive by car," but is it also prohibited to drive there?
Chirihama Nagisa Driveway in Ishikawa Prefecture is managed by Ishikawa Prefecture and can be driven on as a public road. Rental 819 allows driving on the "Chirihama Nagisa Driveway" during the permissible driving period as the only exception. However, please be aware it is a sandy beach and it can be more challenging than a normal paved road. Please follow the traffic information and speed limits for the day and enjoy the ride.
Return
It looks like I will be late for the return time.
Please be sure to contact the store before the scheduled return time. We will check to see if there is another reservation before accepting an extension. The extension fee will be settled upon return. Please pay for the return using the credit card registered on My Page.
Looks like I will be returning sooner than I expected. May I get a refund?
Only if there are more than 24 hours left until the scheduled arrival time, we will make a partial refund [(basic fee based on contracted time) - (basic fee based on usage time)] x 50%. However, fees other than basic charges such as optional items and insurance cannot be refunded. Thank you for your understanding.
Can I return the item outside of business hours?
You can't. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please comply with the business hours of each store.
Insurance
Do you have voluntary insurance? (nin-i-hoken)
Yes. All motorcycle's rental include voluntary insurance (nin-i-hoken). Please check here for more details.
I caused an accident. What should I do?
First, please move to a safe place away from traffic, and check here .
While using the rental motorcycle, it sustained major damage. Will it be covered by insurance?
There is a collision damage waiver option (deductibles apply). Please check here for more details.
My rental motorcycle was stolen while I was using it. Is there any kind of compensation?
